I just got back to Peachtree City, for the 2nd week of the GFA teacher workshop at Pinewood Studios. I am excited about the upcoming week, but this is the first entree in my blog to make a personal transformation in my life. I am quite overweight, and I think this is the first time that I have actually said or written that.
Last summer I worked for several weeks at Mercer University (creative computer camp), and I began to take advantage of going to the Mercer U Gym. I wanted to make it a new lifestyle decision to go on an ongoing basis, and I did for a while. I think I may have lost a few pounds and got down to about 210 pounds. The truth is that I want to get down to 170 pounds and just assumed that before I knew it I would be shedding pounds. I did start to feel better but I didn't really match my eating habits or make other adjustments to maintain any consistency. Before I knew it school was back in session and I had plenty of "legitimate" reasons for not making it to the gym.
Now we're back to present. Two weeks ago I was in Brunswick for part of 4 days, and last week I was in Peachtree City for parts of 6. I am writing "parts of," because I had access to an exercise room each of those days. Well, over the weekend I received my new FitBit thanks to my participation in Real Appeal. That's a totally different story that I will soon address. So, I hit the gym tonight and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Yes. I'm at 220 pounds and the goal is 170 when I head off to T&I next June.
More tomorrow.
